Our feathered friends

Take a nostalgic journey through our past with chickens. While we don't currently have a flock, this page celebrates the beautiful and unique birds we once raised and showed with pride at Buck-Bark-Farm.

Remembering our Silkie flock

We once specialized in raising and showing a variety of chicken breeds, with a particular fondness for Silkies. These gentle and beautiful birds were a highlight of our farm, known for their unique fluffy plumage and calm demeanor. We miss their presence and the joy they brought.

The elegance of Sumatra and Phoenix chickens

Our past flocks also included the sleek Sumatra chickens, admired for their stunning black plumage and flowing tail feathers, and the charming Polish chickens, famous for their magnificent crests. We put great effort into breeding show-quality birds, and they truly were a sight to behold.

Silkies and Polish were my fave.  We also had some Sebrights, Wyandotte, and the best mixed -breed rooster ever ( Charlie)

The Phoenix chickens, with their incredibly long and elegant tail feathers, were another cherished breed we raised. We dedicated ourselves to the care and showing of these beautiful birds. Though an unfortunate incident with a neighbor's dog led to the loss of our entire flock, the memories of our show-quality chickens remain strong.
